Routine maintenance prolongs the lifespan of your helmet liner, prevents odors, and maintains optimal visor optical clarity.
1. Washing Removable Comfort Liners
- Disassembly: Carefully unclip the cheek pads and center crown liner from the EPS shell.
- Hand Washing: Submerge in lukewarm water with a mild baby shampoo or specialized tech-wash detergent. Gently squeeze to release oils and sweat. Never use harsh dish detergents or bleach.
- Drying: Air dry completely on a towel in a well-ventilated shade area. Never place foam liners in a dryer or direct sunlight.
2. Visor Care & Anti-Scratch Protection
- Soak Before Wiping: Place a warm, wet microfiber cloth over bug splatters for 2 minutes to soften dried chitin before gently wiping. Never scrub dry visors.
- Pivot Lubrication: Apply 1 drop of 100% pure silicone oil (usually included in the helmet box) to the rubber visor gasket and ratchet gears to ensure a water-tight seal and buttery-smooth movement.
